It's not like there is a ton of choice out there. I would suggest the 7750.
It's much improvred in all respects. But still no color management tools
bundled? Or is there? I think EasyColor from Monaco? Can't remember.

Farm this stuff out. Have a custom color profile done by Chromix or a place
like that. That will take care of the Xerox. As for monitors, you can either
bring in someone that will calibrate your monitors for you -- I know I would
gladly do it for you (but I'm a little far from you). Or buy a Monaco Optix
monitor calibration package and you do it yourself. The rest is just a
function of figuring what profiles to apply when in either Photoshop and
InDesign -- I feel your pain if you guys are still at the Quark age of DTP.

I've often encountered that mindset. It's hard to fight people's ignorance.
It takes time and a willingness to stick it out. With a little help of an
"outsider" you could slowly gain a little confidence in CMS methods and the
rest will fall into place from there. But, it's breaking that attitude of
indifference that is hard. Color does not happen magically. If it's "good"
out of the printer or on the monitor it means a lot of conditions have
suddenly happened by serependity. But if we want for color to happen in a
controlled, repeatable and preditable way (predictable is the key word,
here) then, you know, there is a minimum of things that needs to take place.

Right. Some ignorance.

That's the mindset of my 5 year-old son, no offense.

Trust your intuition.
