I know that Eizo ColorEdge monitors are highly recommended, but they
are also expensive. Can anyone suggest more affordable LCD models
(probably 19" or so) that are still "OK" for color critical viewing? Or
source of useful reviews perhaps? Eizo has a lesser line (FlexScan) but
I haven't seen anything written about those. I am particularly
concerned with angled-viewing issues.
Please don't tell me "you get what you pay for." I know it's true, but
don't want to hear it anymore. Many thanks in advance.
Dear Armand
I do understand very well that cost is important to us all, but if you
really are doing critical colour work/viewing then the best monitor
available (within reason) is probably your soundest investment.
May I suggest you consider the life of your replacement monitor as being
about three years of five day a week life, assuming that you do not run
it at a crazy brightness. That's about 6000hrs. give or take! Now
divide that by the cost of the screen you really would like....compare
it with the cost per hour of the screen you thought you could
afford/justify. Now consider what your time is worth per hour, think
how you should benefit from using the best screen and it all suddenly
becomes a much easier decision.
Hope that helps<G>
Cheers
Richard
