Overview:
Great show. Great Technology. The HUGE news is the new Adobe unified
RAW file format, called DNG.
A good summary of some aspects of the show ... which is so huge, it's
virtually impossible to see it all.
Monitor Profiling Improvements -
You didn't mention X-Rite’s Pulse ColorElite System. I had a demo from
Douglas Baker (whose baby it is) and I was pretty impressed. The only
thing I suggested he add to the software, was a help panel to tell you
how to turn off colour management for printing out the target. (I
think we may see it in the final version <s>).
The only other things I would mention, as a photographer ... the new
Canon 1Ds Mk11, is excellent ... but it won't replace MF. In the MF
space the Leaf wireless technology is a wow! Very fast wireless to a
remote computer or a Palm thingy. And the new Eyelike eMotion is a BIG
wow, for pro photographers. 22mpx non-stop shooting at a frame every
1.2secs ... no buffer, no slow-downs and frankly, IMHO, the best image
quality and software of all the MF backs.
