Is there a standard set of weights (scale factors) for DE94 and
DE2000? I stumble often over DeltaE values not specified in more
detail and later have to find out that _some_ sort of DE94 was used.
IMO DE94 and DE2000 should only be used for inhouse comparisons, but
when you communicate color differences DE76 should always be named to
have the option to compare with own/other results. In addition to DE76
(Delta E Lab) using DE94 or DE2000 _with_ the used weight factors is
of course a plus.
So if someone knows of a standard/suggested set of scale factors for
DE94 or DE2000 I'd love to hear about that. When using DE94/DE2000 one
has to remember that one reason to come up with new formulas was not
only to have a more evenly distributed color difference, but also to
add the option to use own scale factors, so it's possible for example
to weight the chroma differences more then Lightness differences if
thats suitable better for a specific application.
Is there a set of scale factors which are recommended by the ICC an
ISO standard or "just" used most of the time, when DE94/DE2000 are
used in the prepress industry or for photographers?
Best regards
Peter
