First of all - if you don't have Colorthink go and buy it off Chromix.com.
Try and measure the Proofer test chart as Lab only (not spectral) in
measuretool.
In ColorThink make a gamut plot of your press profil and of the lab
measurement file from the proofer.
If the color list (proofer gridpoints) doesn't cover the gamut of the press
profile, you need to try other combinations of paper/ink. Dye inks will
almost certainly have a larger gamut, and this alone may be sufficient.
If you want to stick with pigmented inks you need to limit the magenta,
yellow and orange inks less than you currently do if at all possible (so
you'll get more ink on paper) to expand the gamut into the reds.
