I work as a photography technician in a college of Design & Fine Arts
at a university.
Our Digital media/ DV lectures are interested in the photography
departments color management to see if any of it could be relevant to
them in Digital video editing. They use calibrated
reference-video-monitors for accurate color assessment rather than
profiled computer monitors. [they use G5 Macs]
Is ICC color-management used at all in DV/video editing? -
(specifically in Final Cut pro?)
Can you point me to any resources on what is contemporary color
management practice with DV/ video editing?
I'm guessing that in theory, when editing PhotoShop images off-line for
use in DV/Video, people could soft-proof their images without having to
have an expensive reference video monitor hanging off their computer.
But is trying to do this relevant in a real-world DV editing? If so how
is this done?
Thanks for your help
Kind Regards
