The Spec sheet I
picked up at the show (which states that it is tenative) states that the CG220
"employs the new G4 Plus ASIC with 14-bit color
processing capabilities" for "better grayscale rendering accuracy during color
space emulation procedure", this is an upgrade from the 10-bit processing
capabilities of the CG18, 19 and 20.
Regarding 10-bit: the press release from Eizo's website states
"ColorNavigator provides 10-bit hardware calibration of the monitor
when used with EIZO’s CX1 colorimeter or select GretagMacbeth Eye-One products".
Also, viewing
the colorspace compared to Adobe RGB in ColorThink showed it was actually
just shy of completely encompassing the entire gamut. The Eizo guy I talked to
said they were still working on that, hence the delay in it's release.
