right
GCR/UCR basically just sets how much ink is used to replace neutrals
created by the 3 coloured inks - Higher max K, SIDs and TAC in a CMYK
profile CAN help, as long as you maintain optimum print contrast.

to do this.
me neither, I don't think that'll work
as far as I know editing the profile will simply mislead you as to the
K density available. IMO it's just reporting the K achieved by
printer/ink/paper. If you're talking Ultrachrome on matte (sounds like
it) some experimentation with paper choice and printer settings may
help but I think you're probably going to be looking for a RIP. Careful
with your choice. You'll need a RIP that gives access to a proper
linearisation procedure. Proofmaster? Colorburst?
all the best
