Also, the longer internal profile name is going to practically blind your
screen in Photoshop the minute you pull down the Destination profile list,
in a ConvertToProfile operation, for example, because the width of the
pull-down menu has to be adjusted, to a limit, to accomodate the longest
profile name Photoshop finds in the ColorSync>Profiles folder. That makes
for weird behavior, if you ask me, and even tends to slow down the display.
Personally, I tend to stay with 30 to 40 characters profile name. But that's
still a compromise because I'd like the profile name to capture as much
information as possible on all kinds of profiling conditions and profile
generating options such as kgen, TIL, edit modifications, profiler used,
which, invariably I end up coding with abrevations that, after the fact, I
dont find as meaningfull as stating the full condition name.
