Any use for the D65 filter on the Spectrolino?

  • Subject: Any use for the D65 filter on the Spectrolino?

I was stumped today by a printer I visited. On their Spectroscan they have
the D65 filter mounted on the head in permanence? They told whoever sold
them the Spectroscan told them to leave that D65 filter on at all times,
because it would make better profiles.

I¹m clueless as to the usefulness of this filter for "general" output
profiling work.

Would anyone see any reasons for such a measuring practice?
