This is a bit application specific, but not sure who else to ask.
I'm scratching my head. I've produced several products for a company
lately, with consistent color, due to ICC Color Management workflow that
I've implemented over the past few months.
However, I've got something specific to Indesign (2.0.2) that I'm have
trouble with. I've got a placed eps that came from a PDF saved as an EPS.
My document space is Sheetfed Coated v2 (the orginal files are untagged, so
I assign this profile for CMYK when the image is untagged. I have to set
some black type on the image, then output. I'm outputting to PDF with my
press space, and then printing to my proofer from Acrobat.
My color is accurate, as shown in the CMYK values being sent to my proofer,
the same as sent for another job the other day, so conversion is working
correctly (last time was from Quark, placed eps files, but no text set in
Quark).
However, the black type that I set in Indesign is going four color black.
Black type in the placed EPS does not, which is how I want it to work.
What am I doing wrong?
*since I first posted this to the Adobe InDesign forum, I've been able to
get the PDF to preserver the black type with Acrobat's convert
colors. However, when I set a device simulation profile, the black type
again changes to 4 color, but the type in the original EPS remains single
color black.
