So, could we made some generalizations about WHEN is 8 bit enough and WHEN
16 bit is too much?
If I seem to have presented 16-bit as an absolute, that wasn't my
intention, and has never been my belief or my practice. See my post
in the other thread for some very broad generalizations as to where
16-bit is more applicable. (But realize too that with any capture
device made in the last 10 years, at least some work is being done on
the high-bit data.)
