LaCie 22 IV density variations

I have just purchased a new LaCie 22 IV monitor. Despite all the adjusting I have done, when viewing my grey Mac "desktop" there is a density difference that is slightly visible from left of center to right of center. I have tried using 2 different computers and the results were the same. Is this normal? I have heard that CRTs aren't perfectly even from side to side, but I thought a LaCie would be better.
