That's right. It's just so I can make a fairer comparison than our old Apple
LCDs v new Eizo.
The Eizo gamut certainly looks impressive. But I'm not sure how useful it
really is?
Having spent twenty years in pre-press I tend pay more attention to the
numbers and only use the monitor to make *relative* judgements.
In the UK the cost of one Eizo is the same as 3 Apple 23" displays and an i1
monitor calibrator. Call me sceptical, but I personally find it hard to
justify paying so much in a bid to match Adobe1998. I'd rather kit the staff
with screen real estate and a warning "not to trust your eyes" than have
them start relying on what they see on a cluttered screen.
Also, outside of apps like Photoshop & Safari, the Eizo can make viewing
other media quite uncomfortable. I'm finding video recorded on EyeTV quite
uncomfortable to watch because I'm getting far too much colour :(
