A little of both, perhaps, but mainly,
relative colorimetric shifts everything relative to the white point,
which in the case of the SWOP v2 profile is Lab 89, 0,4. The info
palette numbers for the modes other than the document mode are produce
using the default rendering intent set in Color Settings-to get the
exact Lab equivalents you'd need to set the rendering intent to
absolute colorimetric-but in a relative colorimetric transform
between two proflles with different white points, the in-gamut colors
will move.
