Thank you for your answer you have
made me realise that I had it twisted around backwards. Probably influenced by
the fact that absolute produces a display colour change I had intuitively
considered L*,0,0 would be the white point of any space, as
if the whole model changed with each profile conversion.
I have been watching the
neutral row of the colorchecker and using absolute in the color settings box to
read back the lab values as you described. This gives me the impression
L*,0,0 is 5000K and L*-2,-14 6500K
= is that correct?
