I have been recommending this display for folks who want to proof their
Hexachrome seps on screen in Photoshop. The CG220 certainly is a bigger
color bucket in some areas but deficient in other areas compared to my
dusty, I mean, trusty Artisan. Like most things thought, it depends on the
subject/content and document color space.
In my case the deviation from ARGB98 helped in getting more Hexachrome
colors in-gamut on the CG220. It's a little tricky to get the Hexachrome
Photoshop proofing plug-ins to take advantage of this since they rely upon
Photoshop's default RGB working space, but possible nonetheless.
I also concur with Mike on the marketing. I wasn't able to get my unit to
calibrate and profile to ARGB perfectly. I tried all the supported devices
too. You don't happen to have a spectroradiometer to test it out Steve, do
you? :)~
