I could have sweared that the "intent" of the OutputIntent was to

Meaning that all taggedRGB converts to OutputIntent;
all taggedCMYK converts to OutputIntent (some images potentially
resulting
in null transform because their profile is the same as the
OutputIntent);
UntaggedCMYK does not get converted because it's assumed to be in
OutputIntent space.
Does that make sense?
It make sense only if the final destination is the same as the
OutputIntent.
If the final destination is not equal to OutputIntent, all tagged RGB
and all tagged CMYK converts to final destination. Untagged CMYK get
converted from OutputIntent (assumed source profile) to final
destination (destination profile).
