Isn't it that it's the application of the profile that in effect does the
'correction'?
BTW I've just put up an article about profiling cameras at

-- I'd hasten to add it's aimed more at people looking to get more into
colour management than some of the luminaries on this list :-)
It's related to when I asked a while ago about using the SG ColorChecker
card for camera profiling and use with the ACR calibrator script...
The article also contains my measured SG values and a version of Thomas
Fors' ACR calibrator script that works with the SG card (or I should say the
one that I've got).
