This can end up introducing artificial noise into your prints and
soft-proofs by having a noisy transfer curve.
This depends on the modelling/interpolation algorithm used to convert
the samples into a profile/curve. A good model will have an estimate of
the randomness in the samples, and smooth the model accordingly.
For something like a grey curve, monotonicity might also be enforced
by the model.
