First, "thank you" to all who responded to my inquiry regarding Kelvin rating and the fine art viewing environment. However, at the moment I have a more pressing issue and desperately need feedback ASAP.
My new Sony Artisan GDM-C520K is having problems calibrating (first time). There are two problems I am running into:
1) I am not able to use a ColorSpace setup in the Custom menu. I can get to the Custom menu but after I make my changes (gamma, white point, etc.) and click the Save button I am returned to the Artisan Home menu with no evidence of my Custom ColorSpace and a default is highlighted for me in the drop down menu. I tried several times but I cannot find my Custom ColorSpace (I did name and save it) after pressing the Save button. What am I doing wrong?
2) After having no success with the above Custom configuration I decided to simply use a default D65 ColorSpace. I attached the puck and it went through all of the readings until the very end when it begins to read random colors (when there is only one empty "pie quadrant" remaining at the top right. The final quadrant fills in as if the calibration was successful and then I get a prompt that reads as follows: "an error has been detected during calibration. Please allow the display to warm up completely. Keep room lights dim and constant throughout process. The display will be restored to its previous condition" - the error number is 1136. My lighting was off, display had been on for hours and light conditions did not change. I tried calibration twice with same resulting dialog. PLEASE HELP....
Thank you,
Cody Thomas
