First of all, thanks to all of you who have responded to my inquiries concerning the Artisan calibration software. After upgrading, finding a problem with original RAM installation, repairing Permissions, etc. I am now fully up and running with the software and able to create color spaces – much thanks….
I am sorry to bring up another issue but as I am not use to having as much “personal control” over the monitor I thought the group might be able to answer (or point me in the right direction for detailed articles/info) questions concerning how the Monitor Controls react with the Artisan Software.
On my personal monitor, the Color Controls are set up as follows:
Contrast = 100
Individual Brightness:
R = 83
G = 81
B = 86
Individual Contrast:
R = 62
G = 50
B = 44
So, how do I use these, or do I, in the calibration of the monitor? Does the Artisan Software completely override ALL of the Monitor Color Controls? Certainly there are some general pre-calibration steps that can be taken in the Monitor Color Controls!! I have noticed that, with the monitor calibrated, when I change from Expert Mode to Easy Mode the monitor changes significantly. I would simply like to know as much as possible on the interaction of the Controls and Software.
Also, I did skim through some of the Gain/Bias dialog on this group but I would like to know if the Artisan’s Gain/Bias can be individually tweaked and how this all reacts with Color Controls, calibration, etc. My current Gain/Bias Settings for D65, Gamma 2.2 Color Space are as follows:
Gain:
R = 158
G = 127
B = 112
Bias:
R = 212
G = 207
B = 219
I understand that this is a large amount of information to request but I have not found any significant articles in DETAIL concerning Sony Artisan Color Controls and their interaction with Artisan Software Color Space calibration and Gain/Bias Settings. I would be most appreciative of just a point in the right direction where I could research this myself. Sorry for the long e-mail, but this group has been the most beneficial to me and I do appreciate it.
Thanks again,
Cody Thomas
