You don¹t necessarily want to ignore the EXIF flag if the camera was set to
produce sRGB. The Design Rule for Camera File Systems version 1.0 or DCF for
short had two options; sRGB or "none". If you set the camera for Adobe RGB
(1998) you not none and Photoshop would get confused by this. Design Rule
for Camera File Systems 2.0 now provides Adobe RGB (1998) as an EXIF flag
but not that many cameras are using it. What's ironic is you can't actually
embed a 4k ICC profile in a 16.7mp capture. Go figure.

That's a HUGE mess! I don't have iPhoto5 but I certainly hope it's not doing
anything as silly as this.
