Hi Cody,
It has been my experience that the Artisan software will, for the most
part, override the adjustments you make on the monitor controls. Test it
out by cranking you RGB sliders to a wacky degree...make your screen
beet red, decrease your contrast, then launch the software. See the
difference? The screen is no longer beet red and you haven't even done
anything yet? Run the calibration, and you'll notice the contrast is
back at 100. The most you might do is cause the initial calibration
attempt to fail, and the next time it should function normally (at least
this was how it worked with me).
The most you need to do from the monitor controls is ensure your picture
effect is set to "Professional". The good news is you'll still get
arguably the best softproof for your buck using the controls within the
Artisan software without the fancy tweaking of the monitor controls.
Hope this helps,
mike

I posted an inguiry last weekend called "Artisan: Controls &
Calibration". I don't mean for anybody to spend a great deal of time on
the subject but if ANYONE can simply point me in the right direction for
this kind of information I would be most appreciative.
Thanks Again,
Cody Thomas
