Sounds like you should toss your Colorsync prefs in the user and root, then
reset the prefs the way you like.
It's not so bad if set to automatic as calls to Colorsync will by default
ask for the motor that is set by the profiling application. So for most
modern profilers they will ask for Apple if created on Mac. Adobe ACE is not
a system wide choice so all conversion in Adobe products by default use ACE
yet can be set to a preferred CMM if you so need to do.
