Removing unused Plugins to improve Photoshop performance

Fellow PS users,

I am curious about something with regards to PS plugins.

I have always left every plug-in that comes with Photoshop in place and then added all others such as Nikon, PhotoKit, PhotoKit Sharpener, and many others.

Last count I see about 85 in the pulldown > About Plug-ins but really only use about 10 maybe on a regular basis.

Has anyone had experience pulling some of these off-line into a folder somewhere outside of the PS Plugins folder just as a place to hold them til needed?

Surely it would load faster would it not? Would it not perform better without some of these loaded into memory too?

Just curious. TIA.
