Epson's glossy UC in monochrome?

Has anyone done any testing on the glossy-optimized UC inks (the 800
and the new 1800 printers) as far as neutrality in monochrome
printing? Is ImagePrint required or does it help on these printers
for monochrome printing?
I am somewhat familiar with the issues with regular UC inks in
monochrome printing, and am wondering if the new inks are
different/better in this regard, on glossy papers particularly
(although the issues I refer to also showed up on non-glossy papers
with the regular UC inks, and ImagePrint is said to help tremendously
for those inks).
