Bob,
I said that in the interest of saving time, late last night. But seriously,
I personally use a Nikon D100 and I don't ever care for Nikon's 'flavor' of
sRGB. Whenever I open either a raw NEF or a JPEG or a TIFF image in
Photoshop, off my Nikon's CompactFlash card, I systematically assign Adobe's
'flavor' of sRGB, the one labeled IEC61933-2.1, and nothing else. I don't
want to fight Nikon eXif or whathever. I don't have time for that. When I
use NEF, I use Abobe's CameraRAW and choose to render as either Adobe's
sRGB, ProPhoto or AdobeRGB. But I have to say, in all fairness, that since I
always capture in sRGB, on the camera, I don't see a reason to change the
profile thereafter. So I just re-tag the image with "sRGB IEC61933-2.1".
Maybe there's something I am missing?
