yes,
The file format is the same so replacing the .icm with .icc is perfectly valid. While that will work for OS X systems, for OS 8/9 you also need to set the invisible "type" and "creator" codes.

Also - you need to perform this fix on a Mac you can't do it before you move it to the Mac
