Hi Mike,
We have a pair of Epson 4000's for our students and have had absolutely
no feed problems with cut sheet paper. Most of the time we have letter
sized Enhanced Matte paper loaded in them and average between 100-200
prints per week.
My only complaint which in our case is minor, but if we didn't have the
ability to create custom profiles would've been a major one. For
reasons I can't fathom, Epson implemented their 4000 canned profiles as
"hidden" files. Even worse the profiles aren't even accessible unless
the printer is physically connected to the workstation from which you're
printing. Client's wanting to print with canned profiles over a network
are SOL. Can't imagine what Epson was thinking implementing such a set up.
Fortunately we're able to make custom profiles for our printers, which
allows us to bypass Epson's network printing snafu. We encounter this
problem several months ago when we first got the printers and Epson tech
support agreed it "might be a problem for some customers" (ya think??) ,
but had no solution at that time. Perhaps they've remedied it by now... ??
