Can you describe what's different to a CRT? Is one technology (CRT vs.
TFT) better in your eyes? In my experience they are "just" different
with typical advantages and drawbacks of each technology. Overall I
personally prefer a high-end TFT though. One main advantage is less
strain to the eye IMO. Haven't had the chance to do systematic tests
or read reports (are there already done any?), but I think the perfect
sharpness of a TFT is the main reason for this effect.
Dear Peter
I have just returned home from visiting the "Focus" photographic
exhibition in the UK. Whilst there I saw the all singing all dancing
Eizo ColorEdge LCD screen CG220 that's billed as having a gamut matching
that of the Adobe RGB colour space.
Well I was very disappointed with the poor blacks and the generally
misty appearance of the display....not keen at the shifting density as I
moved my head about either. This screen was being displayed by a
colour management company and was profiled. I'm very glad to be using
an Artisan but was hoping to find an LCD screen that came close to the
Sony for taking on location.......I will keep on looking!
Cheers
Richard
