RE: BasICColor vs. ColorEyes
RE: BasICColor vs. ColorEyes
North American support for basICColor products can be directed to our team
at GrafixGear. We keep east coast hours, and look forward to the potential
of assisting users in achieving best quality accuracy.
We expect that basICColor will offer new functionality and accuracy on an
accellerated basis. At $50 for each display license, it is also reasonably
priced for the outstanding calibration and profiling functionality.
Please let us know how we might be of assistance.
Sincerely,
Jon Meyer
President

Thanks Bret. I'm in California so phone calls to Germany for support can be
difficult. I'm told that the code is the same today but will split from
here forward. I'd prefer to stick with relatively closer timezone-based
support. But I guess I'll have to investigate the upcoming differences
between the two diverging paths. ... alas, yet another thing to worry about
in the world of photography that's not directly related to pressing the
shutter release.

I chose the BasICColor path because I was familiar with the program and with
Color Solutions. Also, they offered a site license which covers the 12+ macs
that we use for color correction. I have dealt with them for support, and
have received excellent response even though they are in Germany (I am in
New Jersey)
I do not know as much about the team at Integrated Color, but I have not
heard anything negative about them. I believe they are based in the Boston
area.
