No Jack, you continue to miss the point.
What is bad service is not answering a direct question with a straight
answer. I asked both you and Eizo what your respective software products
needed to see in order to work. Eizo answered the question for their
product (ColorNavigator). It is that specific answer that has moved this
issue closer to resolution by pointing toward one particular root problem,
probably in the graphics card.
In contrast, you have not provided similar information for your product and
have even instead suggested that you did't need to "be in the middle of it".
You have further suggested that Eizo is non-standard so I may have other
problems but you haven't provided any specifics. Because of this assertion
about Eizo, I asked again if your software needed to see something other
than the same registry info as Eizo so that we might resolve all root causes
at once. Again, you provided no answer.
The point is, your product isn't working (or is being prevented from working
due to some other problem). The root cause may very well be a failure of
some other component. In fact, based on what I've learned so far, it
probably is - for ColorNavigator. But unlike Eizo and 3DLabs, you, sir,
have not provided a single bit of helpful information to help diagnose or at
least narrow down where that problem may be.
Even in your latest email below, you indicate that it would not be
reasonable to assume that the registry fix will solve the problem, yet you
STILL don't provide any specific data to indicate what else might need to be
checked/addressed.
Continuing to point out that it's complicated, that there are lots of
issues, that the registry fix may not completely fix the problem, and yet
providing no specifics, no useful diagnostic information, no value add....
THAT, sir, is bad service.
Michael

Ok, lets clear this up. The video card in question (3D) does not permit, at
this time the use of ddc because it does not provide information in the
registry about the monitor. Having not tested the card, and only going on
second hand information from Eizo through Mr Fox we can only assume that it
might work after that fix. But without actually testing the card with the
registry fix it is all a crap shoot on the pc. There are a host of cards
that provide a challenge to ddc functionality on the pc so it would not be
reasonable to state it is going to work after this registry fix. I suppose
some might interpret this stance as bad service.
