You could always get your old target re-measured, rather than get a new one (unless it's in poor condition).

There have been some significant improvements in gamut mapping, gray balance and shadow detail from version 4.6 to 4.7.2, and even more so from version 3.2, which is waaay old. In fact, if you check out the WMU Profiling Review 2.0 from 2002 (http://www.wmich.edu/ppse/staff/downloads/), you'll see a comparison of version 4.0 to version 3.2, and there is a dramatic increase in quality. It's a great package across the board. You can't edit input profiles, but the only time I've ever needed this feature is to address the Kodakchrome issue, and for that I edited in Photoshop. Other than that, on my end, I just don't see a need to do it.
I personally prefer Monaco generated profiles over Gretag MacBeth's, but there is a lot of functionality in the Profile Maker package that's hard to pass up.
