Windows/Eizo update:
ColorNavigator: Eizo Japan sent an email indicating
that they need certain information to exist in the Windows Registry. This
information is not in the Registry on my machine but the 3DLabs card
configuration window shows it. Further analysis from 3DLabs has
determined that the Wildcat4 7110 card does not have the right hardware “hooks”
to make this happen. They assured me that their newer cards, (the Realizm
100 or 200, for example) do have this support and they are FedExing a unit to
me for testing. So, I guess use of ColorNavigator is out until I get my
graphics card updated. While the root problem appears to be the graphics
card (at least it does at this point), it is important to note that it was the
info from Eizo that pointed out where the problem was for their software.
3DLabs was also very responsive.
basICColor: I installed it and it worked just fine, right
away. Leave it to the Germans to get it right the first time! Although
I didn’t need it, I also received emails off-list offering support from
the basICColor folks. Nice going guys.
ColorEyes: Still doesn’t work. It’s
supposed to be based on the same code as basICColor but who knows. ColorEyes
folks have provided no information to troubleshoot why it doesn’t
work. At this point, I’m done with them.
