While I understand the issues that Soren is having I think this may be a bit of an oversimplification...
We've had good results with the Eye-One spectro calibrating both CRT and LCD displays. Their software has been updated fairly recently and people might also want to try other software to see if that's not the root of the problem. ColorEyes Display has been doing very well for tougher calibration problems.
Also, print measurements, even using the same instrument, are a totally different ball game. Measuring dark colors can be problematic and many errors can be generated that may or may not be handled well by the software. Which software was used by the way? The Eye-One is supported by most profiling packages....
Has the Eye-One been tested with the diagnostic tool? Does it need recertification? Has a different instrument been tried on the same paper?
If the paper is matte then the level of accuracy desired may be too much for this instrument. The Eye-One is not supposed to be all things to all people. Perhaps a higher-level instrument is called for?
Regards,
Steve
