Roger,
The different gamut mapping options in PM 5 show best when you use
Perceptual intent, but you'll only see the difference with high gamut
images.
My standard test for gamut compression is to assign DonRGB or BestRGB to my
RGBXPLORER image which you can download at
http://www.huchcolor.com/Targets & images to go/RGBXPLORER8.hqx
Convert this image into three profiles made from the same data with the
three different options, using perceptual intent, and you'll see what an
amazing improvement Logo Colorful makes over the two older methods. At last
colors beyond the range of a typical IT8 transparency are handled smoothly
without losing saturation.
