Hi list Members
I run profiled Apple Cinema LCD Displays on a set of G5's that are used
by about 100 users (photography students) in a swipe-card-access only
area.
Our users are reasonably color savvy and only rarely do I get monitors
being readjusted.
However I would prefer to lock the brightness slider on the ACD's so as
to make my monitor calibrations more robust between updates.
Does anyone know how I can lock the brightness slider on the ACD's
control pane?
Easy: only allow your users access to a non-administrator account and
set the limitations on that account to disallow changing system
preferences (they'll still be able to change a few non-critical ones if
they need to). Also make sure that the brightness buttons on the side
of the display are disabled in the Displays system preference pane for
that user before you disable system preferences access.
