I think the Epson RGB profiles fall quite short (totally different shape), but the Epson CMYK – good custom profiles are right inline with the Hex Press and Roland profiles, in terms of gamut and shape. I have been working with Hexachrome Proofing for the last few weeks. I think if a different Yellow ink was used in the Epson, it would be there. Here are some numbers taken off a Hexachrome Press sheet and an Epson Proofer. Given that in an actually job, 100% of the primaries are not necessarily used, the matching can be better than it looks, i.e., the colors in the job may only call for some percentage (less than) 100% Hexachrome Orange.
