Just wanted to mention that I'm quite obviously getter better at
this. Yesterday we ran a job, the first one we've run since I got back to
working on a color managed workflow this time as well as being the first
time I felt I had a good handle on how it worked. We matched our press to
our dot-proofer produced proof to a delta-E of 6.5 in a particular shade of
green, 4.5 in a shade yellow, and 1.5 in a patch of a purple tint. That
may not sound amazing to many on here, but for me, it is quite good,
considering this is the first full attempt and by FAR the closest we've
ever had a color proof match to an actual print. Previously, we'd run a
proof on press, and if customer liked it, we ran with that. Now it seems,
the days of having to setup a job on press to get an accurate proof for the
customer to sign off on may be numbered.
