Good day one and all,
Just purchased a powerbook G-4 15in. I am printing to an
EpsonStylus Photo 1280.
I need some advice on the proper settings to receive the exact match
of what I see
on my screen, to output on the printer.
Thanks much

John,
There are 3 important steps:
1) calibrate your screen. I use the Monaco Optix system and I get good
results on my 15" PowerBook.
2) find a profile for your printer. Epson has free profiles for the 7600
and the 9600, but I don't know about the 1280. Ask.
3) make sure that you load your profile into the proper place on the Mac,
and check to see that it appears in the print with preview window of
Photoshop.
Hope that helps. Good luck.

Good advice except that Epson does not provide very good profiles for
the 1280 printer.
You might want to consider their new printer, the Epson Stylus Pro
R1800. The canned profiles that come with this printer are good...
better than what's provided for the 1280.
The other really nice feature with this printer is that Epson
actually walks you through the ICC color managed workflow... how to
use ICC profiles with their driver for optimal results. You can
download the instruction manual from the Epson website and take a
look for yourself.
If you still want to use your 1280, Epson has a PDF that will help
walk you through the ICC printing process.
