Title: Re: Re : ProfileMaker 5 won't read a strip (Matt Nelson)
I’ve done what Ian has suggested and it’s fixed the problem numerous times. We were measuring glazed ceramics and errors occurred between 2 dark colours. We drew a line with a fine white paint pen and the problem was fixed.

The eyeone samples colour rapidly and relies on contrast between patches to detect edges, otherwise it fails the read. If you come across a strip that stubbornly refuses to read, you have a couple of options :
1. Make a pen mark between some suspected patches that appear to have low contrast, and try to read the strip again
or, 2. Switch to Patch mode, read the offending strip as patches using the patch guide, then switch back to Strip mode and carry on reading (hopefully) the rest of the chart as normal.

Excellent suggestion!
