We are a mid size fast growing printing company that
is going to finger print our presses and create plate
curves based on the GRACol standard for dot gain and
density. We have in the past have had color
consultants come in and do this for us. So we have
watched over the shoulders of those doing the
calculations. We have just recently purchased a 6/c
Komori and have an older 6/c komori on the floor that
we've been using for the bulk of our production. We
are also in the midst of changing inks as well. We are
using GMG RIP software and Epson 9600 and 10600 for
our proofing set up. Our proof to press match over all
is pretty accurate most of the time, however we need
to make it better. So we will also be recreating
Device link profiles for GMG as well.
We overall have a good group of knowledgable staff on
hand that feel confident we could come up with a good
set of curves for each of our presses and create
Device links, but we also could use a little coaching
as well. Is there some literature we could access that
can give some step by step guidelines. Also curious
what different parties are using software wise to
capture, configure and average the press data out
with. We have a copy of Profile Maker 4.0 that looks
like we could use, but any suggestions would help
greatly.
Thanks in advance
Steve Lehning
