Right. That's because RAW, by definition, is an unprofiled space. So you
cannot associate some input profile with it.

Right. The color is already rendered at that point. As long as you tag it
with the same profile as Canon would, you're OK.

No. I understand this is the only conclusion you can arrive at given the
limited information you have over CameraRaw.
