On the contrary, I would do *exactly* that; measure the primaries of the Artisan, and the other monitor, using a lab grade meter, not the Artisan device and software. Remember, we are not talking about calibrating and profiling these monitors, simply measuring the raw values of the primaries, which is best done with a good lab meter and no profiles involved. Even if I were to do this without a bench meter, I would do it with a single consistant hardware and software combo, such as a Spyder and the colorimeter window in the Spyder2PRO software, to get consistant results.
