You could equate the Dmax of solid blacks to the lowest L value of LAB from
the data measured when creating an ICC profile.  The new inks are supposed
to have marked improvement in L value and therefore solid black and shadow
range detail.  The current inks typically yield an L value of 10 or above
for media's like Premium Luster Photo Paper.  The new inks are supposed to
yield an L value of 4.  That will make a huge difference!
