Eric,
That number for a Dmax of 2.3 on glossy is seeming an improvement over
1270 dye ink on glossy with a Dmax of 2.2 (my measurements).

On Epson glossy media the dmax on rich black (RGB 0,0,0) on my 2400 is 2.3,
and the L* is just a little lower than 5L*.
Andrew,
Do you know or can you measure the Dmax for solid blacks in a color and
in a B&W print on matte and art papers? To my mind, a deeper black would
be significant.
