Paul;
There are two predominantly popular packages that would fit your photographic workflow needs: the Eye-One Photo from GretagMacbeth and the Pulse ColorElite Standard system with UV and Optix from X-Rite/Monaco. Both solutions are comparably under $1500 and in general performance. And you're right, both packages only include a 5"x7" reflective IT8.
The Scanner software modules included in both are compatible with IT8/ANSI certified reflective and transparent targets. That means you can usually and safely assume that the popular targets (Kodak, Fuji, HutchColor, etc.) will be compatible.
Hope that helps?

Hi All,
I am looking for a calibration package for an advanced amateur
photographer who needs monitor calibration, printer RGB (with strip
reader rather than patch reader) and scanner transparency. Most
affordable (understand below 1,500) combined solutions I have checked so
far that mention scanner calibration, only include a reflective IT8
target and probably won't handle an additional TX IT8. Is there
something that could suit his specific needs, with included or optional
4x5 transparency? As an alternate option, what affordable scanner
calibration tool would you recommend?
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Paul Schilliger
