Chris,

The standard set up, the correct media chosen and NO COLOR MANAGEMENT

Apparently it wasn't, he thinks it was No Color Management

For mine, it was a 918 chart. I can't do multiple runs and data averaging
because as I mentioned, I'm using Match 3. I assume that the colour
specialist did do those things... but I don't know for sure

In fact, I profiled 5 papers on 3 different 2100's last week alone and this
client was the only one who wasn't enthusiastic about the profiles. I
haven't had a profile complaint (for lack of a better word) in months and
months.

When I went to his studio today, I also mentioned about creating targets
with the driver set to Photorealistic and today he printed out a set of
targets with this setting, one at 1.8 gamma and one set at 2.2 gamma

Don't think I can do this in Match.

Yeah but I'm not in a position to tell this chap what to do about his £135
profile or how to handle that situation. My guarantee to anyone is
satisfaction guarenteed, no questions asked, money back. I am definitely
going the extra mile to help him here in any case. Tomorrow he's got 3 sets
of targets for me (as above). I'm not charging him for any of this work or
research. Basically, I liked his work and took pity on him.
I'm really hoping that Andrew's point was correct because it explains all
the weirdnesses with one master stroke
Thanks Chris for taking the time to write such a thorough reply. If things
don't go well with the new targets tomorrow, I'll try your point number 2.
Thanks again,
Eric
