That's exactly what it's doing. The times quoted are not outrageous. I saw
the unit in action (didn't time it) but I can say, it's super fast. The Rev
A EyeOne read 100 samples per second so 1/10 per patch isn't hard to fathom.
Not sure if the Rev B unit that is required measures more patches per second
or just is faster at handling the data.
